Hi, in this video Jazzduets demonstrates a solo featuring triad pairs on top of Herbie Hancock´s Modal Jazz masterpiece Cantaloupe island.
On the first chord F-7, Ab + Bb triad pairs are superimposed, which produce a muscular sound feeling probably as both triad pairs are major.
On the Db7, Bb and Ab minor triads are featured, creating a wistful, impressionistic sound, somewhat reminiscent of Claude Debussy.
On the last chord D-7, F and G major triad pairs are superimposed,
which produces a robust, vigorous potent sound feeling on the minor chord.
