Today I’m testing the ROLI Airwave with the ROLI Piano — a controller setup that tracks your hands and turns gestures into real musical control. I’ll run through the main gesture modes (tilt, glide, slide, flex, grasp), play a bunch of presets, then push it further: controlling a plugin in real time, using Airwave with a totally different MIDI keyboard, and even controlling a real analog synth via Ableton/Max for Live MIDI conversion.
It’s one of those rare bits of music tech that genuinely feels like the future… but the big question is: does it actually work in real life? Let’s find out.
