In this video I explore the idea that North America has too few countries and propose a series of hypothetical border changes and creation of new independent nations. Starting with Canada, I suggest the independence of Quebec, which would include Newfoundland and Labrador due to geographical considerations. I then propose the formation of an independent New England, comprising U.S. states like Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, along with Canadian provinces New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island (plus that little piece of Quebec I forgot about). To balance territorial changes, I envision Alaska becoming part of Canada. Moving to the West Coast, I discuss the creation of the Republic of Cascadia, uniting parts of Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia. I also consider an independent California, extending into Mexican Baja California, and the establishment of a sovereign Native American state in Oklahoma. In the Caribbean, I propose a union of all islands into a Caribbean Union, fostering cooperation and shared governance. For Mexico, I suggest the reestablishment of the Republic of Yucatan and the Republic of Rio Grande, potentially uniting with an independent Texas. Finally, I advocate for the revival of the United Provinces of Central America, excluding Panama, to promote regional unity.
