After almost a decade in Labor’s shadow, the Liberal National Party, led by Premier David Crisafulli, now holds the reins in the Sunshine State.
Former Premier Steven Miles campaigned on generous cost of living relief and concerns the LNP would wind back abortion rights - something David Crisafulli has ruled out. But the party couldn't convince voters who wanted a change.
The biggest swings to the LNP were in regional Queensland. Former state Labor MP and now political analyst John Mickel argues Labor has lost touch with the regions. Alexandra Blucher reports.
