Skiers and snowboarders rescued from malfunctioning gondola in Colorado
More than 170 skiers and snowboarders had to be rescued on Saturday from a gondola that malfunctioned at Winter Park Resort in Colorado.
The evacuations were completed by the resort's internal ski patrol staff who are trained for emergency ski lift and gondola rescues each year, according to a resort spokesperson.
All guests trapped on the gondola were given a $10 voucher and two lift passes for this year or next year.
