Hi, I am Ritesh Kumar from Haryana. After completing my engineering in Information Technology from ITM Gurugram, I cleared my SSB and joined the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. In September 2012, I was commissioned as a Service Officer in the Indian Army, serving for 10 years in the Artillery branch. My role involved IT-related responsibilities, including audits and maintaining cybersecurity policies, ensuring both physical and logical security.
When I retired in September 2022 as a Major, I started contemplating my next career move. I was drawn to information security but quickly realized that despite my military experience, transitioning to the corporate world was challenging. Many companies found it difficult to align my Army profile with their needs. To bridge this gap, I decided to pursue certifications in information security, particularly CISM and CISSP, which are highly respected in the field.
