Subaru XV (or Crosstrek in some markets) may look like a compact hatchback, but it's bigger than the MINI Countryman, Range Rover Evoque or Toyota Corolla Cross. It also has the highest ground clearance of the lot at 22 centimeters. In this review I am talking about the 2022 model year. In autumn 2022 Subaru announced the third generation, which looks very similar to the second gen, has almost identical dimensions, and the main differences are in the interior, where there will be a large infotainment display, like we saw in the new Outback. The XV model name used in Europe refers to the Impreza XV, on which this car was originally based. But in the U.S., it’s called the Crosstrek, and as of 2023, this will be the global name for this model. Subaru promises that in the new generation of the Crosstrek everyone will be able to experience the e-boxer two-liter mild hybrid.
