A Minecraft Movie is building it’s publicity push block by block towards an April 2025 release date, and after the divisive reception to the first teaser, we sat down with the film’s director, Jared Hess, and Senior Creative Director of Entertainment at Minecraft, Torfi Frans Ólafsson. We talked about their expectations for the first trailer, what their goals were with the second trailer, and how concerned they were about an “Ugly Sonic” problem of their own.
