Intermediate saxophone Duets Audio book
It´s easy to knock yourself out playing alone in your living room , but performing with others is a whole different challenge. My mentor used to remind us of this at every Big Band rehearsal, and he was absolutely right! In an ensemble, you're not just responsible for your own part—you have to fit into the group, which requires skill, awareness, and teamwork. But while it demands discipline, playing together can also be incredibly rewarding and fun.
Duet playing is the most intimate form of ensemble performance, where the interaction between two players is placed under a microscope. Without a drummer to guide the rhythm, the timing and feel come entirely from the players. This makes every note matter—not just in terms of pitch, but also rhythm and groove. The smallest details, like the length of each note, can make the difference between a polished performance and one that is musically untidy
What makes duets so special is that they challenge each musician to be fully aware of both themselves and their partner.

My name is Nick Homes. I am a non genius musician who struggled for many years to find out the secrets of jazz improvisation. Throughout 40 years of playing, and obsessive investigation I have focussed on building systems of learning for my students so they can improve, and reach their learning goals with the highest probability whilst having fun!
