Move Your head with every punch? Centre line head movement breakdown #mma #boxing
Boxers and Boxing coaches have different opinions based on how they were trained or what training style they use.
This often leads to biased opinions on right and wrong boxing techniques. Fact is there are many ways and techniques for fighters to become world class athletes.
A popular discussion is on Head movement off the center line. meaning moving your head through the mid line of your body with every punch.
First, note that every boxer has a unique style which means they’ve adapted certain techniques that suite how they prefer to box or a coach has prescribed to them
Based on what they see as what works best for their boxer.
This could be an inside fighting style, outside style, counter puncher or aggressive attack or slick defensive fighter.
Each style requires slightly different head movements to work with that particular style.
What I mean is it’s impossible to have only one method to moving your head when There’s so many boxing styles.
One fact remains true: 90 percent of the time ( Tyson’s style is different ) moving your head off the line every time you punch is unrealistic and almost never seen in full fights. In most cases boxers move their heads before and after combos not with every punch.
The most effective way for you to see this is to simply watch a few boxing highlights of both pros and amateur fighters and you’ll see it. You dont have to take Nate Bower’s word for it…simply look for yourself and then come back and leave me a comment.
