Carlos O'Connell of Fontaines DC connects with the brilliant legacy of the man who kicked open the door for Irish rock, blues and punk musicians, the late, great Rory Gallagher. On the eve of the auction of Rory's guitars at Bonhams in London on 17 October, Carlos plays some of the instruments with which Rory carved out an indelible place in music history - including his iconic 1961 Fender Stratocaster. Playing some of the most storied instruments from Rory's collection, Carlos reflects on the guitars themselves but also his own coming of age as a musician in Fontaines DC, Irish music culture, and Rory's seminal role in rock's evolution in the late 60s and 70s.
