Asahi Linux: Zero GPU PassThrough on LInux
How would you like to run Games written for X86/X86_64 on ARM, and use the graphics hardware built into your CPU? Pffftt, too slow right? Maybe not. those amazing folks at Asahi Linux have solved the Linux problem of having to pass through a GPU to the VM. The GPU stays on the Host, the drivers for the GPU stays on the Host side of the VM, each VM can use the GPU as if it were dedicated to it. The next hurdle will be can I take advantage of multi-session support...if you own an NVIDIA RTX GPU, sorry no dice that single session only, if you own a AMD RX GPU, sorry no dice that's also single session, but what if my CPU where Intel with a Xe GPU....that supports multiple sessions.
We have two legs down to our three legged stool (x86/x86_64 code running on ARM, and use of the GPU without losing the ability to use it for the host)...could multi-session be next?
