The Land Rover Defender Octa might be the ultimate all-rounder, able to handle roads, the rough stuff and even the racetrack – and in January 2026 it’ll head to the Dakar Rally to prove its mettle in a new production-based class. But the Dakar also allows for purpose-built machines in the ‘Ultimate’ class, so might a bespoke Ford Raptor T1+ be a better jack-of-all-trades?
