How Shower Pods Help Eliminate Water Waste | Art Insider

Sunrise Session by Nohbo sells beauty and personal-care products, like shampoo, conditioner, and soap slips, that are filled in water-soluble films. Once the pods or soap slips touch water, they dissolve and leave no trace of packaging or plastic. Inside the brand's Florida lab, founder and CEO Benjamin Stern guides Insider through the process of making these pods. The team starts with batching, where they take raw materials and convert them into finished liquid. These ingredients are water-free, vegan, cruelty-free, and naturally derived and consist of humectants, surfactants, emollients, and cleansing extracts that nourish and protect the hair, like seaweed and citron. The team tests the formula by washing on hair tresses and with an optical laser. Then the product is filled inside the water-soluble films and packaged.
