Southeast Asia floods: More than 1,000 dead across Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand
A rare and simultaneous cluster of three tropical storms has torn across south and southeast Asia causing deadly flash flooding in Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Thailand.

They are the worst floods Sri Lanka has seen in a decade. More than 15,000 homes have been destroyed and over 400 people killed.
On the island of Sumatra in Indonesia, rivers burst their banks, submerging or sweeping away tens of thousands of homes.
The death toll has already passed 700, with hundreds of thousands more forced to flee.
Rescue efforts are underway, but many communities remain unreachable as flooding engulfed much of the country.
