'We Prefer Respect': Macron Calls Out Bullies at Davos
French President Emmanuel Macron said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that France favors respect over bullying and the rule of law over brutality, calling on Europe to defend effective multilateralism against a growing “law of the strongest.” Although he did not name any countries, the remarks come amid rising tensions with the United States, after President Trump threatened steep tariffs on French wine and champagne and criticized France’s resistance to US pressure on issues such as Greenland.
