Systemic failures led to young prisoners’ deaths in Scotland
Two people who took their own lives in a Scottish young offenders institution were handed a "death sentence", according to a lawyer for their families - as a fatal accident inquiry blamed systemic failures for their deaths.

Katie Allan, who was 21, and 16 year old William Lindsay, died in Polmont Young Offenders Institution back in 2018. Katie's mother Linda Allan said her daughter had been brutalised so far, that she had lost all hope.
