Verge senior smart home reviewer Jennifer Pattison Tuohy came across a smart dog crate on the CES show floor. The CleverK9 is equipped with smart doors that can be controlled with an app and set to automatically open if the crate’s sensors detect fire or smoke. It is slated to launch later this year, at an estimated price of $600 and going up to $2,000 based on size. There’s no subscription and it works over the local Z-Wave protocol.
