In Gaza, the World Health Organisation has hailed the first stage of a polio vaccination campaign as a success. The disease made an alarming comeback in the dire conditions caused by the war.

But overcrowded shelters, and a desperate lack of food and medicine have led to a worrying spread of skin infections, particularly affecting young children.
According to the World Health Organisation there have been at least 150,000 cases since last October.
