What’s the movie Passengers about?
A spacecraft transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet has a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers. As a result, a single passenger is awakened 90 years before anyone else. He is a mechanical engineer named Jim Preston (Chris Pratt from Guardians of the Galaxy). Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he eventually decides to wake up a second passenger, after a year of isolation. He chose to wake up a woman named Aurora Lane (Jennifer Lawrence from The Hunger Games). However, he does not tell her the truth and pretends her sleep chamber had a malfunction too and this is why she is now awake like him.
As Jim and Aurora face living the rest of their lives on board, with every luxury they could ever ask for, they develop a unique love story. But they soon discover that the ship is in grave danger. The lives of 5,000 sleeping passengers are at stake and Jim and Aurora are the only ones who can save them all.
