Change Keys Instantly with This EASY Theory Trick!
The Nashville Number System sounds fancy, but it’s actually one of the simplest and most useful music theory tools you can learn. Instead of memorizing chord names, you learn the relationships between chords in a key. That way, if a singer asks to change keys, nothing really changes—you’re still playing the same numbers. Start with open chords in the key of C, learn which numbers are major and which are minor, and notice how only a couple chords sit a half step apart. Once this clicks, you can figure out the chords in any key and move them around the neck with confidence.
