Major Eartraining Exercise
Major Ear training Jazz exercise
#sax #saxophone #saxplayer #saxofone #sax #major #eartraining #jazz #exercise
Here is an eartraining exercise to try.
The idea is to stay in one key and chord for an extended
time period.
Eventually 30 mins to an hour.
Deep immersive training.
So here it is F major triad we are hearing.
And in this demonstration I willbe starting all the phrases
on the 2nd or 9th degree, so on the note G.
The purpose of this threefold:
1) to help us get used to the
particular unique sound of the 2nd on the major.
2) to develop some coherent phrases that begin on this 2nd degree.
3) to help expand the player´s vocabulary
You can sing along or imagine the notes
in your minds ear,
or do what i am doinf, listen and repeat on your instrument.
For me this is an enjoyable, meditation like exercise
that promotes calmness and therefore
puts us in to a good state to absorb the information.
This is a great warm up for 10 minutes a day on different notes.
BTW, this exercises come from a new eartraing resource I am developing.
