A Machine That Turns Plants Into Rope
Check out my sponsor Brilliant and use this link for 20% off a premium subscription: https://brilliant.org/nighthawk - In this video I assemble and test a rope machine that is theoretically capable of taking any fibrous material (such as straw or other plant fibers) and turning them into two stranded rope. This machine was purchased on Aliexpress for about $900 ($300 for the machine, $600 for shipping). The seller has since deleted their account. It seems these machines are made and sold by a variety of different factories with subtle differences between designs. After a bit of work improving a few faults in the manufacturing it seems to work well. I'll likely use the rope from this machine for a number of future projects.
