When you stay in corporate jobs for too long, they make you stop taking risks. Risks you need to take to keep growing in your skills and your income. Until I quit the corporate tech grind to pursue self-employment, I only made decisions that seemed the most safe. But this made it harder for me to transition to working for myself.
