Michigan Army Vet Ed Bambas' Viral GoFundMe: How Samuel Weidenhofer Pulled Off $1.7M Surprise

Army veteran Ed Bambas can finally retire from his grocery store job with nearly $1.8 million in the bank thanks to a viral video and the kindness of strangers. Ed lost his pension from General Motors when they filed for bankruptcy and needed to work in a grocery store to make ends meet. Australian mental health and kindness activist Samuel Weidenhofer uploaded a video of Ed to social media and it inspired people to donate to the cause.
