*ABOUT THIS VIDEO*
Join me for a deep dive into the iconic sound of Stevie Wonder’s legendary hit “Superstition. ”I’m thrilled to show you how to recreate that unforgettable synth bass sound using the my 1969 "Plantasia" Moog IIIc —a close cousin to the synth Stevie used in the studio!
But here’s the twist: Contrary to popular belief, Stevie didn’t use a Minimoog for this track which is verified in this video by the album’s producer, Robert Margouleff, the real magic happened at T.O.N.T.O. (The Original New Timbral Orchestra), which is the groundbreaking modular synthesizer created by Malcolm Cecil and Robert, which means we went straight to the source!
So, if you’ve ever wanted to know how to harness that funky, gritty bass that defined a generation, stick around. I’ll break down the sound step-by-step, sharing tips and tricks that will elevate your production game.
Just for fun, I'll even show you how to do it on the Minimoog so you can hear the difference. Let’s get started and bring some of that Stevie magic into your music!_________________________________
