
Household energy bills to rise after watchdog approves £28bn investment
Britain's energy watchdog has approved a £28 billion investment to upgrade UK gas and electricity transmission networks which is estimated to add £108 to household bills by 2031.

But Ofgem says the investment will end up saving people £80, by lowering the country's reliance on imported gas.
It comes a week after the Chancellor announced she would cut £150 from power bills by next April.
