People gather in Aceh, Indonesia on 20th anniversary of 2004 tsunami that claimed over 230,000 lives
Hundreds of Indian Ocean tsunami survivors and family members of the victims commemorated its 20th anniversary on Thursday (December 26) in various parts of Aceh, Indonesia, which accounted for more than half of the total 230,000 dead from the disaster.
Family members of the deceased gathered at a mass grave in Ulee Lheue village, scattering flower petals on gravestones. Many were seen crying and hugging their family members.
