These little balls, let you drink water with zero plastic waste. Called water pods or Ooho Balls, they’re made from seaweed extract and hold water inside a thin, edible membrane that melts in your mouth.
They’re designed as an eco-friendly alternative to single-use drink containers, and were first targeted at marathon runners, as a way to cut down on plastic bottles and cups.
But now the company is filling them with other liquids, like tomato sauce for take away foods.
These water balls are biodegradable and safe to eat, making them a sustainable innovation for reducing plastic waste at events, marathons, food courts and in the beverage industry.
