The only thing stranger than a 16-foot, nearly five-meter tall statue of a five-legged human-headed bull with wings is how and where it was discovered. This massive sculpture, carved from a single piece of stone weighing about 40 imperial tons or 80,000 pounds, was buried deep in the earth, almost as if it had been engulfed by a catastrophic mud flood.
