“Markets don’t lie,” claims Kalshi co-founder Tarek Mansour. He’s one of two 20-somethings behind the first legal election prediction market. As political polls become less trustworthy, he says the platform encourages voter participation, while also allowing Americans to make big bucks off of it.
Kalshi goes beyond elections, from culture tentpoles like the Oscars to major natural disasters. “You can trade or bet on the outcome of any event,” explains co-founder Luana Lopes Lara. “We also offer markets on ‘will a hurricane hit Florida again?’”
