is "always an option" - and declared that acquiring the Arctic island is a "national security priority" for the US. European leaders, including the UK, have insisted that Greenland "belongs to its people". While the French foreign minister said the idea of one NATO country attacking another was "nonsense" - and absolutely contrary to US interests.
