American Airlines flights grounded nationwide on Christmas Eve
This was an unwelcome Christmas surprise. A "technical issue" caused American Airlines to issue a temporary ground stop on all US flights just after 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 24. Video filmed by one AA passenger at Boston Logan International Airport captured the moment holiday travelers learning the news and were told by the pilot to deplane. The flier filming replayed the issue was a "national computer failure."
