How It All Started: 18 Years of Rachel’s English on YouTube
? Join Rachel’s English Academy: https://tinyurl.com/academy-945A
18 years ago today, I uploaded my first YouTube video. I was 29, living in Germany, studying at the Goethe Institute, and working as an opera singer. A classmate from Turkey asked me to help him sound more American, and that unlocked everything.
In this video, I take you back through it all: my very first lesson (on the tricky TH+S sound), filming in front of a green bed sheet, early videos in New York City, the first-ever YouTube EduCon, writing my book, launching Rachel’s English Academy, and the 13-million-view video I never saw coming.
On my first day, I got 4 views. In my first six weeks, 3 subscribers. Thank you for being part of this adventure.
