A Period‑Instrument Lark Ascending Like You’ve Never Seen or Heard

We are exploring the outer reaches of what we usually play with a program of 20th Century music including The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams. Our leader Kati Debretzeni takes us through the experience of performing the iconic British piece for the first time. The performance is enhanced by a responsive lighting installation by Squidsoup and Concrete Voids, a custom-built system of 80 speakers turning the Queen Elizabeth Hall into a 3D sound instrument, allowing the lark to fly around the space.
