This is an epic self-built truck camper that sleeps 6 and is built for off-grid and off-road adventures. It's built on a Ford F550 cab and chassis truck, it's 4x4 and has: 2 diesel fuel tanks, 220 L of water storage, solar panels and batteries, a toilet and shower, a wood stove and electric heater/AC, a fridge and propane stove, and more!
Rémi and Noémie from The Wildcrafters built two of these campers with their friends and they use them for extended expedition travels. With their off-grid systems and extra fuel, they can get to remote places and stay there for a couple of weeks at a time!
The camper part of the project cost approx. $40,000 CAD and they built it using natural materials whenever possible, including cedar for the siding and interior walls, hemp insulation, and wood for the cabinetry and flooring.
The couple has travelled in Canada and around Mexico, and they plan to visit Central and South America, and maybe go even further! You can follow their adventures on YouTube here:
