Residents Climb Rooftops as Floodwaters Overwhelm Ghana's Capital
Heavy rainfall flooded parts of Ghana’s capital, Accra, on June 29, submerging homes, roads and vehicles. Residents in the Alajo neighborhood were seen wading through floodwater, while others took refuge on rooftops as water levels rose. Ghana’s President John Mahama urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid flooded roads.
