Trump Denounces 'Islamic Republic of Japan' in Iran Gaffe
President Trump accidentally denounced the "Islamic Republic of Japan" while condemning Iran — making a head-turning gaffe during the annual NATO leadership summit.
Trump was speaking about Iranian attempts to sink a US aircraft carrier earlier this year.  "We had 111 missiles shot by the Islamic Republic of Japan. They were shot at the aircraft carrier over a period of about one hour, 111 missiles going to a very expensive ship," Trump said as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky looked on. "And every one of those missiles was knocked down."
