The Department of Justice announced that its Trade Fraud Task Force, launched with the Department of Homeland Security in August 2025, has surpassed $1 billion in civil and criminal recoveries, penalties, forfeitures, and charged losses in less than a year. The task force targets customs and trade fraud schemes, including tariff evasion, transshipment, false declarations, forced labor imports, and other illegal trade practices.
