How YouTubers Look At Art | ft. @GreatArtExplained & @AmorSciendi
Thank you to @GreatArtExplained and @AmorSciendi for giving me their time and insights! They helped me tackle these daunting questions on art and art appreciation.
By having an art history channel, I will inevitably keep receiving the age old question: How can I appreciate art? It can be daunting to be in front of an artwork at a museum or a gallery, and not know where to begin. Am I doing this correctly? Are there any guidelines on how to appreciate art? Ultimately, there are no set rules on how to have this experience. But if we can tell you one thing: there is no right way to appreciate art. You can either live the aesthetic experience of appreciating art, or you can appreciate it for its context and its ideas.
I hope this answers some questions, and as always I’m looking forward to discussing this later today at 11am EST (8am PST, 5pm CEST). Make sure to join in, if not I’m live every Sunday!
