'Obsession' Was Partially Inspired by an Episode of 'The Simpsons'

"Obsession" director Curry Barker says that the "magic" of his record-breaking horror film was, in part, inspired by an episode of "The Simpsons" featuring a monkey paw. "Obsession" is a wish-gone-wrong film made with a budget of less than $1 million, and it became Focus Features' highest-grossing movie of all time.
