Glass Animals’ silky tune, “Gooey”, saw frontman Dave Bayley lay down the track’s vocals while holding onto a pineapple – named Sasha Fierce. It’s a performance method they used to further infuse the track with a tropical vibe and an overall greater sense of fun. And I think that’s the best way to describe all three of Glass Animals’ current releases. Fun. Each one carries its own imaginative concept, brimming with off-the-wall lyricism that’s all backed by some brilliant and bombastic production. They consistently deliver creative, colourful and catchy left-field pop tunes – owing just as much to The Beach Boys as they do Dr. Dre.
