Flying out of Mexico City, after being at the Azteca yesterday, I started to get a bit emotional thinking about everything that happened. So decided to film this.
Firstly it was the best game of football I’ve ever been to.
It had absolutely everything.
The weather, the delay, the altitude, the iconic stadium, the atmosphere and of course England putting in such a heroic performance.
On top of that, words can’t describe how welcoming the Mexican fans were.
Friendliness and hospitality at every opportunity.
I’ve always loved coming here but the past few days have shown me another level to the Mexican people.
So many England fans told me Mexico might now be their favourite country, just because of the last few days.
Gracias Mexico ??& COME ON ENGLAND ???????
I promise we’ll do our best to beat Argentina.
Time to believe.
