Mat’s got his hands on the all-new Denza Z!
It’s an absolutely insane Chinese hypercar that offers absolutely insane power for a relatively affordable price!
The question is, can an all-new Chinese brand create a car to compete with the European elite? Let’s take a closer look - starting with the performance stats!
The Denza Z is an all-electric supercar with a tri-motor set-up - one motor at the front, and two at the rear. The three of these combine to produce an eye-watering 1,600hp, which can propel the Z to 62 mph in around 2 seconds, and it comes with a top speed of 217mph. The edition we have here, with the metal roof, tips the scales at 2,580kg.
Then let’s check out the design. The Denza Z is available in three variants - Coupe, Convertible & Racing. We’ve got the latter here, which means around the back you’ll find a huge wing, tail lights that remind us of a Bentley, and an absolutely huge carbon fibre diffuser. Along the side you’ll find several vents to help airflow, a carbon fibre roof, and concealed door handles that simply open when you insert your hand into them! Up top, there’s a huge vent in the bonnet, coupled with a massive front splitter packed with a load of real vents. All-in, it’s a proper sporty-looking bit of kit.
On the inside, the impressive design continues. There’s a layered dash with a 2-tone effect, and there’s fake leather and Alcantara found throughout the cabin. The seats are comfortable with speakers in the headrest, and the large steering wheel comes equipped with several physical buttons. Most features are controlled through the large infotainment screen, and the digital dials offer all the information and stats you need.
The Coupe edition of the Z costs from £143,000, the Convertible comes in at £159,000, and the Racing edition will set you back £173,000. So you’re offered some incredible power for the same price as a Porsche! The question is: would you choose the Z over a GT3 RS? Let us know in the comments!
