Martha Stewart Sits Down With Craig Melvin to Address Halloween Costume Controversy
During a sit down with Craig Melvin on TODAY, Martha Stewart apologized following her controversial Halloween costume that appeared to depict a homeless person. She also clarified that Craig Melvin was not at fault for her wearing the outfit that sparked backlash.
Stewart has been facing criticism since she posted a now-deleted photo of her looking disheveled while holding a clipboard that read, “I AM HUNGRY HELP ME!!” for Halloween, per NBC News. During her appearance on TODAY Nov. 6, Stewart addressed the controversy — and how Craig subsequently got roped into it.
“I made a mistake,” Stewart said. “I was stupid, what else can I say? I am so sorry, and I hope that my followers and my fans and the rest of America forgives me for doing something that was not meant in any way to be a bad thing.”
