Hugo Andreae heads out to Mallorca to sea trial and tour the first-ever Highfield ADV9. Known worldwide for their rugged aluminum-hulled tenders and utility craft, Highfield’s new 30-foot hybrid merges the open-water safety and wave-deflecting benefits of a RIB with the layout, luxury, and cabin accommodation of a premium GRP sportsboat.
Hugo puts the ADV9’s 22-degree deep-V hull through its paces in heavy 1-meter swells, testing its twin 250hp Honda outboards and Seakeeper Ride trim system up to 42 knots. He also breaks down the transformer-style modular aft cockpit, the outdoor wet bar, the surprisingly airy double cabin with an electric heads, and the solid walkaround deck layout.
