New Year's Eve Ball in Times Square Gets Patriotic Makeover
For more than 100 years, crowds have gathered in Times Square to ring in the new year with its famed ball drop. Now, for the first time, the sparkling centerpiece will shine in red, white and blue and drop on midnight to mark the United States’ 250th birthday and to kick off a series of celebrations.
