Duncan Sheik, 'Barely Breathing' Singer, Dead at 56
'Barely Breathing' singer Duncan Sheik is dead at age 56. A statement on Instagram says he died Thursday night 'surrounded by love,' but doesn't share what caused his death. In addition to his commercial success a singer and songwriter, Duncan was also an award-winning composer. In 2007, he won two Tony Awards for turning 'Spring Awakening' into a Broadway musical. The production's soundtrack went on to win a GRAMMY the following year. Duncan is survived by his longtime partner, Nora, and their daughter, Ines, who was born in 2008.
