‘Love Island USA’s’ Gabriel on Expressing Himself in More than One Language
Gabriel from 'Love Island USA' season 8 told TODAY that he "can give more details of how (he's) feeling" in Portuguese or in Spanish than in English.
Gabriel, who is originally from Rio de Janeiro and speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and English, was eliminated after being voted out by the women in the villa. In his first couple with Islander Beatriz, Gabriel spoke Spanish and English, including a tearful goodbye in Spanish when Beatriz left the villa. In his second couple with Jen, Gabriel spoke in English, although he taught Jen a couple of phrases in Portuguese.
"the thing is, if I hear 'I love you' from someone, I know that people are going to be, love me. But if I hear, 'eu te amo,' which means I love you in Portuguese or ('te amo') in Spanish, means more for me, you know?"
