Nick Reiner Fights to Unlock $1.5M Trust Fund for Defense in Parents' Murder Trial
Nick Reiner filed a petition to unlock his $1.5 million trust fund in order to cover the cost of his legal defense. Reiner, who was arrested for the murder of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, claims the money was supposed to be distributed when he turned 30, but never was. Under what is known as the 'slayer statute,' a person who kills a decedent cannot benefit from their estate; however, Reiner is arguing that, because the money was meant to be distributed to him before the deaths occurred, he is still entitled to the funds.
